This is why we all saw the writing on the wall about you taking ON LA so quick.Even Ski in a subtle way chimed in on it But to make some comparisons here and Yes im going there When you brought back Mojave there was another Sean the laid back relaxed Sean.You were not as stressed with Mojave it was all just good times lots of laughs and being content with just running trains.Even with Mojave a few new people were starting to come in But the minute you went with La those few new people left i don't know the reasons why.But i know for me i wasn't ready for La the way Run 8 does things.They managed to do something wonderful they gave us one helluva train sim to play with.They gave us things that even these Triple A game makers could'nt t give us.But i also understand the limitations of Run 8 well being they are such a small team they could'nt get everything right something had to fall by the wayside.But there is always room fro improvement down the road. This is something i did not want to see.I understand your passion for Run 8 i have known this from day 1 i also undertand why this frustrates the hell outta you.But i also understand Run 8's POV as well and i know for a fact the bubblegum random train picker machine of yesteryear drives you nuts. Simply put, the next chapter in RTS has now begun. Unitl then, I'm going to meet my own expectations from myself.

Maybee some day Run8 will meet my full expectations of what it truly could be. I don't regret a thing the past 6 years, despite my frustrations I have lots of fun. If you think I'm going down without a plan b, then you don't know me. I've removed RTS from the Run8servers, and will be removing my tag line from TrainSIm shortly. So do many who own Run8, but again as I always say that is their business.
But if they were worried about bringing more people in, the people who haven't purchased Run8 simply want some editors. I'm sure not hearing from my critical opinions will be more relaxing to pushing people away from Run8. Am I done Run8 for good, that depends on how I feel, and what Run8 can come up with. I feel bad that Ski got a great gift, but if anything it showed me how great a route could be, but how inefficient Run8 is of handling such a beast.Īnyways I appreciate the support since before day 1 of Run8 and through over 6 years now. Has nothing to do with the people who have operated with me. The funny thing was I was already thinking of giving up before tonight's session. My RD laid silent most of this past winter, well now it's likely going to be unplugged. I have no interest running on other servers unless it's with my friends. So just like the guys on the team grew frustrated with trying to mold their creations inside the limitations of Microsoft, I've grown frustrated at trying to mold my creations inside the confines of Run8. But then I watch as the yard tags, and again random numbers it doesn't rely on a backbone of waybills like RTS did. Spawning the same symbol back to back is just plain stupid.

On at least 2 occasions tonight Run8 proved despite being the best train simulator on the planet, it fails miserably at harnessing the power of the AI in generating realistic operations.

Again relying heavily on a simple random number generator that has not worked properly since day one.

Then add in all the yard operations and what has replaced manual tagging.
Sure I could create trains and spawn them, but I never would be able to run a huge amount of traffic with AI and manually AI each train as they came on.
In Run8 V2 even if RTS was upgraded to V2 I would not.

When I had RTS software I had control of what the trains would be. Though the potential is there, working with Run8 in it's current form is not to my standards. With the numbers continuing to be as low as they've been, it was important for me to make sure LA worked as good as I imagined under my control of key funcitons. But the truth is I already slept on it over the winter.įor the last couple of weeks I've been able to count participants on one hand.
I was going to stay quiet about this, and sleep on it.
